Upsets in Sports can captivate us all.  And when the Upset occurs on a grand stage, it becomes all the more special.  Some upsets, are still talked about years later, and others are even made into a movie.

It was on this day, March 19th, 1966, that Texas Western defeated Kentucky in the NCAA championship game.  Texas Western was the first team to start five black players in an NCAA championship game.  The team was coached by Don Haskins and Jerry Chambers was named the tournament’s most Outstanding player.

In 2006, a movie title Glory Road was produced.  The movie was based on the 1966 Texas Western college basketball team.  The film became a box office number 1 on its opening weekend.
