Virgin Atlantic Airways has its first ever flight

Virgin Atlantic Airways is a British airline that operates worldwide from, the United Kingdom, Middle East, Australia, North America, Africa, and the Caribbean. Virgin Airlines has a good amount of countries covered with their flights, but it does lack something in a certain aspect. Their flights within the United States have very limited destinations, because even though they do operate from the United States they have very few airport locations.

On June 22nd 1984, Virgin Atlantic Airways had its first ever flight. The first plane they used for their flight was a Boeing 747-200.

With this first flight Virgin Airlines gave British Airways a run for their money as some would say. Before Virgin, British Airways was the only airline in the United Kingdom that did long route trips to other countries.
