US & Canada agree to preserve Niagara Falls

Niagra Falls forms the international border between New York and Ontario.  It is truly one of the great wonders in North America as tourists from across the world visit the beauty of Niagra Falls.

It was on this day, January 2nd, in 1929, that the US and Canada agreed to preserve Niagra Falls. If left alone, the falls were going to erode and ultimately be destroyed.  However, with intervention by both nations, the Niagra River was diverted allowing the great Niagra Falls to stay strong for the foreseeable future.

It was a sign of things to come in which Canada and the US would join forces to improve, stabilize, and better North America.
