Tracy McGrady Scores 13 points in 35 seconds

In the early years of his career, Tracy McGrady established himself as one of the best players in the NBA.  The guard/forward made seven consecutive all-star appearances between 2001 and 2007, constantly ranking amongst the NBA’s top scorers.

On this day, December 9th, in 2004, Houston Rockets forward Tracy McGrady scored 13 points in the final 35 seconds of a game against the San Antonio Spurs. McGrady’s performance was one of the most memorable game-ending shooting displays ever seen, with four consecutive three point shots, one of which resulted in a four point play.  He hit the game winning three pointer with 1.7 seconds left in the game after stealing the inbound pass.

McGrady struggled with back and leg injuries near the end of his career but during his peak, he was known as one of the most difficult players to guard and he’ll certainly continue to hold a special place in the hearts of both Orlando Magic and Houston Rocket fans.
