Toyota makes its first ever appearance in the United States at the Imported Motor Car Show in Los Angeles, California

Toyota, a Japanese automaker, became the ninth largest company in the world when indexed by revenue. A global success, the company was the world’s largest automobile manufacturer according to production calculations made in 2010.

It was on this day, January 9th, in 1958 that Toyota made its first ever appearance in the United States at the Imported Motor Car Show in Los Angeles, California.

Toyota is truly an international brand with factories in most parts of the globe. Manufacturing and assembling locations are placed locally in all of the company’s major markets. Toyota is also one of the largest companies in producing hybrid vehicles like the acclaimed Prius.
