Southwest airlines launches in Texas, creating a new breed of airlines called low-fare carriers

When choosing flights and airline companies one always looks for which company has the best offers because realistically why pay more if you can pay less. Airline companies always want to offer their customers the best offers, but one company prides itself on doing this the most.

On June 18th 1971, Southwest airlines launches in Texas, creating a new breed of airlines called low-fare carriers. Southwest attempts to beat any other airlines prices at all cost and as a result of their dedication in the past couple of decades they have worked their way up to becoming the largest airline in the United States based on the number of passengers.

It seems that Southwest just continues to expand as we see that Southwest merged with AirTran Airways and are now known as one single company.
