Rangers Score 30 Runs: Most in MLB

The Texas Rangers have been a MLB team since 1961 and unfortunately, the team has never won a World Series title.  While the championship is ever elusive for the Rangers, the 2007 season witnessed a once in a lifetime victory.

On this day, August 22nd, in 2007, the Texas Rangers scored 30 runs against the Baltimore Orioles.  The Rangers’ feat marked the most runs scored by a team in MLB history.  The 27-run margin of victory was also an MLB record.  The 30-run outing by the Rangers was made even more impressive by the fact that it was done during an away game and the Rangers had suffered 19 strikeouts in a game three days prior.

The offensive success in 2007 was a bit of an anomaly for the Rangers, who finished the season bellow .500.  In recent years the Rangers have had more notable success, winning the AL Pennants back to back in 2010 and 2011.
