The Raiders lose to Tom Brady and the Patriots because of the obscure rule

Tom Brady is one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks of all time.  He has consistently risen to the top during big occasions, as he has led the Patriots
to multiple Super Bowl Championships.  However, before Tom Brady had ever won a playoff game – he was involved in one of the most controversial plays of all time.

It was on this day, January 19th, in 2002, that the “tuck rule” became famous.  Tom Brady fumbled the ball which would have given the Raiders the win in an NFL playoff game.  However, when the play was reviewed, it was determined that the fumble would be overturned because of the “tuck rule.”

The Patriots went on to win the game, and the Super Bowl in that season.  Many people wonder had it not been for the “tuck rule” – if Tom Brady would have risen to stardom as quickly as he did.  Regardless, the rule was in place and the reply officials determined the “tuck rule” was in place – and the New England Patriots and Tom Brady have never looked back since then.
