A carbonated soft drink is invented by Caleb Bradham – it is later named Pepsi-Cola

Pepsi- Cola when first invented consisted of carbonated water, sugar, kola nut extract, vanilla and oils. It started off with the name Brad’s Drink, but when pepsin and cola were added to the drink it changed its name to Pepsi Cola.

On August 28th 1898, a carbonated soft drink was invented by Caleb Bradham – it was later named Pepsi-Cola. Funny fact is that when it was first made Bradham believed it would be healthy for people to drink since pepsin is good for digestion.

Shortly after the company name was patented and soon began the franchising that spread Pepsi- Cola all over.
