At the age of 44, Nolan Ryan pitches his seventh no-hitter

Nolan Ryan was one of the greatest pitchers to ever play baseball.  In 1983, he set the record for the most strikeouts in Major League History.  And with each passing year, he continued to make an amazing impact while establishing more records.

It was on this day, May 1st, 1991, that Nolan Ryan pitched his 7th career no-hitter.  The 7 no-hitters are a major league record.

Nolan Ryan accomplished the feat in a 3 – 0 victory of the Toronto Blue Jays.  Ryan had 16 strikeouts in the effort, and making the feat all the more impressive was the fact that Nolan Ryan was 44 years of age.  The game was played in front of a home crowd at Arlington Stadium in Texas.
