Golf legend Jack Nicklaus shoots a 286 on route to winning the Masters in Augusta, Georgia.

The Masters is the most prominent Golf tournaments in the world.  Held in early April in Augusta, Georgia each year, the tournament gives its winner a green jacket, which for any professional golfer is a lifelong dream.

It was on this day, April 7th, 1963, that Jack Nicklaus won the Masters.  Jack earned a 4 day score of 286 on route to the victory.

At the young age of 23, Jack became the youngest golfer to win the Masters Tournament. And the Masters would see Jack Nicklaus win 5 more titles, giving him a total of 6 which is the most all-time. Nicklaus, aka “The Golden Bear,” would win a record 18 career major championships, making him the most successful golfer or all-time.
