The Cardinals move to Arizona and they keep the same team name and are called the Arizona Cardinals

The hardest day for any long-time Sports fan is the day when a team moves cities.  It seems unfair but it happens, as a variety of reasons can lead to a team moving to a new city.  Football fans in St Louis, Missouri know the feeling all too well.

It was on this day, March 15th, 1988, that the Cardinals moved from St. Louis to Arizona.  The team decided to keep its name, and to this day the franchise remains the Arizona Cardinals.

Financing a new stadium in Arizona was difficult, so the team played at Arizona State’s Sun Devil Stadium for the first 18 years.  But then in 2006, the team finally moved into its own Stadium, a beautiful dome with a retractable roof, in Glendale, Arizona.
