The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) was established.

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences was made with the purpose of advancing the music industry by organizing musicians, producers and recording professionals. It started with major recording industry executives and their dream of an organization that unites all these people.

On May 28th 1957, The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) was established. This is the organization that brings us the Grammy Awards for all forms of musical entertainment each year. The Grammy Awards are meant to acknowledge all of the people whom deserve to be recognized for their hard work.

In recent years they have launched the Latin Academy Arts and Sciences and it produces the Latin Grammy Awards. Within the years the organization has only gotten stronger that it was able to expand into the Latin community through their music.
