Monty Python’s final episode airs on BBC

Monty Python’s Flying Circus is a sketched comedy series created by the comedy group, Monty Python.  It was broadcasted for five years (1969-1974) on BBC.  The shows usually targeted the idiosyncrasies of professional British life.

On this day, December 5, in 1973, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, which came to be known as just Monty Python, aired its final episode.  In the four series that played, there were 45 episodes, in addition to two episodes for German TV.

The comedy group would also be known for a number of successful films such as Monty Python and the Holy GrailMonty Python and the Meaning of Life, and Monty Python’s Life of Brian.
