Microsoft is restructured as an incorporated business

Headquartered in Redmond, Washington, Microsoft is a company that has repeatedly dominated the home computer operating system market. In 1975, founders Paul Allen and Bill Gates came up with the name “Micro-Soft” for their developing company.

On this day, June 25th, in 1981, Microsoft was restructured as an incorporated business.

Despite Microsoft’s huge influence in the computer market, the company’s financials were surpassed by Apple Inc. in 2011 for the first time in 20 years. Apple’s first quarter profits and revenues in 2011 were $6 billion while Microsoft’s were $5.2 billion.
