Microsoft Corporation was established in 1975, quickly climbing the ranks to become a powerful computer company. It now dominates the office suite market with its Microsoft Office programs.

On this day, November 10th, in 1987, Microsoft was the first to offer a bundle of applications at a discounted price, competing with other companies that sold applications separately.

The first version of Microsoft Office bundled together Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Powerpoint. Now, the programs are used both in the home as well as in the office. They can be run on PCs and Macs, which has caused the programs to be used widely.
