The Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers played a 25 inning game – the longest MLB game in history.

Sometimes Baseball fans get more than they bargain for.  There is no clock in Baseball, so games can last for a very long time.  Plus, games can go into extra innings, and once they do, you never know when the game will end.

It was on this day, May 9th, 1984, that the Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers played in a 25 inning game.  The game was the longest in MLB History as it was 2 innings away from being 3 games in 1.

The White Sox, who were playing at home, won the game by a score of 7 – 6.  Harold Baines blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the 25th inning to seal the deal and earn the victory for Chicago. A few players recorded 11 at bats in the game including Chicago White Sox catcher Carlton Fisk.
