The last episode, with John Daly as host, of the game show What’s My Line? airs on CBS

Every Sunday night at 10:30pm for seventeen years, CBS broadcast the primetime game show What’s My Line? This game show was the first panel show to be broadcasted in color.

On this day, September 3rd, in 1967, What’s My Line? airs for its final episode with John Daly as host. CBS no longer wanted to air game shows on their network because game shows did not fit the primetime requirements. The last episode of What’s My Line? highlighted clips from past episodes and revisited former contestants.

The 876 episodes of What’s My Line? were so successful in the 50’s that it won over three Emmys and a Golden Globe Award. Today it is the best-known game show for its audience engagement and style presentation.
