Kobe Bryant Says He Wants Out Of LA

Kobe Bryant may be the greatest Laker ever.  What makes him so special is the fact that he has always been a Laker.  While other players switched teams throughout their careers – Kobe has always stayed true to his team.  However, that doesn’t mean that Kobe hasn’t been disgruntled and upset in the past.

It was on this day, May 30th, 2007, that Kobe Bryant said he wanted to leave LA. He told ESPN Radio’s Stephen A Smith that he wanted to leave and there wasn’t anything the Lakers could do to change his mind.

As history would unfold, Kobe wouldn’t force the Lakers to trade him.  And Kobe’s loyalty paid off, as he won the NBA finals MVP award when his Lakers defeated the Celtics in game 7 of the finals in 2010.  By beating the rival Celtics in the finals, and by winning an NBA championship without Shaq, Kobe’s legacy as one of the greatest NBA players of all-time was cemented forever.
