KISS play their last concert in their traditional makeup (although, reformed with all original members, they would return to the painted faces in 1996).

Known for their extravagant outfits and make up KISS was a popular band during the 70’s and 80’s. Their makeup gave them a persona. There was the Starchild, The Demon, Spaceman and Catman. Not only were they big then, but their music continues to be heard by many since their reunion in the 90’s.

On May 29 1983, KISS played their last concert in their traditional makeup. This was the last time as a band they would be performing with their makeup on. They however did return to wearing their makeup in 1996 when they reunited for  their concert tour.

KISS has gone beyond the music world and into the merchandising world as well, thanks to their elaborate costumes and face painting. Their concerts had die hard fans that dressed up like their favorite band member including the face painting. With 28 gold albums, KISS has gone above and beyond any other American rock band.
