The Johnny Cash Show, a television variety show hosted by Johnny Cash, airs on ABC.

The Johnny Cash Show was recorded in Nashville and incorporated a lot of country music artists as guest on the show. The show consisted of some constant regulars such as his wife, the Statler Brothers and the Tennessee Three. There were a couple of things that the network wanted changed about the show, but Johnny Cash stuck it through and refused to change certain parts, such as his Christian faith, certain words that were used, and artists that had risky song themes or beliefs.

On June 7th 1969, The Johnny Cash Show, a television variety show hosted by Johnny Cash, airs on ABC. The show came about because ABC was looking for a show to replace The Hollywood Palace that aired on during the summer on Saturday nights.

Unfortunately the show did not stay on the air for too long. It was canceled in 1971 because they wanted to eliminate shows that had “demographically-skewed audiences” and The Johnny Cash Show seems to have been one of them.
