Joe Montana sets the NFL record for postseason touchdowns when he tosses his 31st

Joe Montana is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.  He played with a unique presence and calmness which helped add to his allure.  And in the postseason, Joe Montana took his game to another level, which is the reason he is considered one of the all time greats.

On this day, January 15th, in 1990, Joe Montana sets the NFL record for postseason touchdowns. Montana threw his 31st touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in a 41 – 13 blowout of the Vikings.

The 1990 postseason would only get better for Montana as his San Francisco 49ers would later destroy the Denver Broncos 55 – 10 in Super Bowl XXIV. The win made the 49ers Super Bowl champions in back-to-back seasons for the first time in the history of the franchise.
