IBM is founded by Charles Flint- the company was originally called the Computing Tabulating Recording Corporation

Known as IBM, International Business Machines is a corporation based on technology and all the logistics that come with the software and hardware aspects of computers. The company not only works with technology, but they invent new technologies. IBM has nine research companies worldwide and as a result of their hard work in researching and coming up with new technologies they have the most patents than any other U.S technology company.

On June 16th 1911, IBM was founded by Charles Flint- the company was originally called the Computing Tabulating Recording Corporation. The name came about because it was a merging of three companies, but by 1924 the name was changed to IBM.

To date IBM remains a leading company. According to 2011 Fortune magazine IBM ranked #7 in most profitable firms in the United States.
