Hank Aaron Traded From Braves to Brewers

Hank Aaron is by far one of baseball’s best players.  Born in 1934, the slugger took his skills from the Negro league to the top of the MLB.  Aaron appeared on the All-Star team in all 25 of his years as a player.  From 1954 to 1975, Aaron played solely for the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves, breaking Babe Ruth’s long-standing career home run record in the process.

On this day, November 2nd, in 1974 Hank Aaron was traded from the Atlanta Braves to the Milwaukee Brewers.  Milwaukee fans were more than happy to have their long-time Braves star return home.  Though Aaron only played for the Brewers for one season, he was able to make history on the team by breaking the all-time RBI record.

Aaron retired in 1976 with a record 755 home runs, 3,771 hits and 2,297 RBI’s.  Hank Aaron was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982 and has his #44 jersey retired in both Atlanta and Milwaukee.
