TV comedy show “Get Smart”, starring Don Adams and produced by Mel Brooks, debuts

The Mel Brooks and Buck Henry production Get Smart! portrays the life of a secret agent as a happy go-lucky male who happens to always save the day.

On this day, September 18th, in 1965, Get Smart! the secret agent comedy series debuts on NBC-TV, and four years later it is moved to CBS-TV for its final season. The show ran for 138 episodes and was nominated for 21 Emmy Awards with seven wins and two Golden Globe Awards.

In 1995, Get Smart! was reproduced with the same characters but with a different plot.
