The Boeing 777 completes its first flight and becomes the world’s largest twinjet aircraft

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is a major designer and producer of large commercial jet aircrafts. Their 777 plane was the first for many things, but it was largely known as the first commercial aircraft to be designed entirely by computers.

It was on this day, June 12th, in 1997 that the Boeing 777 completed its first flight and became the world’s largest twin-engine jet aircraft.

Eight major airlines consulted together to develop the 777 aircraft in order to create a plane that fit in between the capacities of the traditional 767 and 747 planes. The “Triple Seven,” as it is called, has over 300 passenger seats.
