Woodstock is one of the pivotal events that changed the history of Rock and Roll, defining the direction of popular music. Over the weekend, thirty-two acts performed in the outdoor venue in front of a crowd of 500,000 people.
On this day, August 17th, in 1969, the official final day of Woodstock Music Festival came to a close. However, the bands at the concert in Bethel, New York, unexpectedly continued to play for another day.
The free concert included the top performers of the decade: Arlo Guthrie, Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, CSNY, and Jimi Hendrix to name a few.
