Eagles Fans Boo Man Dressed as Santa Claus

The Philadelphia Eagles have some of the most dedicated fans in all of sports.  When a city lives and dies for its team, the results are usually emotional.  In the case of the 1968 season, the Eagles fans were fed up and frustrated with a franchise that only won two games.  The fans’ frustrations often caused them to lash out at those who really did not deserve it.

On this day, December 15th, in 1968, Eagles fans have a memorable uproar after a cancelled Christmas celebration. Frank Olivo, a devoted Philadelphia fan, had a long standing tradition of showing up to the final Eagles home game dressed as Santa Clause.  On this December 15th game, Olivo attended the game as usual but instead of showing appreciation, the angry Philly fans launched snow balls at him and booed.

Olivo’s run in with fans is still remembered today and, in its own way, is a part of Philadelphia Eagles history.
