Disney’s short film “The Wise Little Hen” features Donald Duck for the first time.

Based on “The Little Red Hen” fable came Disney’s short film “The Wise Little Hen.” The main character is the little Hen whom displays the moral of the story, the value of Labor. The Hen’s name is Mrs. Hen and the moral is displayed when two of the other characters come up with the excuse of a stomachache to get out of work.

On June 9th 1934, Disney’s short film “The Wise Little Hen” featured Donald Duck for the first time. Donald Duck was one of the characters whom faked a stomach ache to get out of work. In the end he was taught his lesson by Mrs. Hen and now he is still around, known as one Disney’s most popular characters.

Even though it was only a 7-minute short film, it marks the beginning for Donald Duck.
