It was on this day, August 13th, in 1951 that American singer-songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Dan Fogelberg was born in Peoria, Illinois.

Fogelberg’s extraordinary talent came from his musical family. His mother, Margaret, was a classical pianist, and his father, Lawrence, was a high school band director. Dan started his musical career at the young age of 14.  Although he didn’t achieve acclaim until later, his first music band was called The Clan, and it solely covered Beatles songs.
