World renowned musical theater composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, most famous for his composition for Phantom of the Opera, is born in London

The Phantom of the Opera has become a widely recognized musical. It did not always have this recognition though, when it was first written as a novel and published it did not sell very well. Andrew Lloyd Webber composed the musical that brought this story to fame.

On March 22nd 1948, World renowned musical theater composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, was born in London. The saying the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree is definitely accurate for Andrew seeing as his father worked at the London College of Music as director and his mother was a musician herself, a piano teacher.

Over his lifetime he has composed thirteen musicals and has won many awards. Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has left his mark in theatre history and the Phantom of the Opera is just one musical that proves this.
