In round 1 of the NBA playoffs, Charles Barkley has his best game ever scoring 56 points in a game.

Charles Barkley is one of the greatest NBA players to never win a title.  The round mound of rebound dominated the regular season and the post season, but he could never get over the final hump.  However, the lack of a title didn’t mean that Barkley didn’t rise to the top when the pressure was on the line.

It was on this day, May 4th, 1994, that Charles Barkley played the best game he ever played.  He did this in the post-season, scoring 56 points for the Phoenix Suns against the Golden State Warriors in round one of the NBA playoffs.

The 56 points are tied for the third most points ever score in an NBA playoff game.  The most points of course in a playoff game came at the hands of Michael Jordan in a legendary game against the Boston Celtics.
