Carnegie Hall in Midtown Manhattan, now one of the most prestigious performance venues, opens its doors for the first time

Located two blocks away from Central Park this concert venue is one that surely must be on the top of anyone’s list while visiting New York. Being on of the large buildings in New York built during the 19th century makes it quite historic and the architecture of the building is just amazing.

On May 5th 1891, Carnegie Hall in Midtown Manhattan, now one of the most prestigious performance venues, opened its doors for the first time. It was a concert conducted by Walter Damrosch and Peter Iiyich Tchaikovsky that had the honor to be the opening show.

Carnegie Hall has an immense amount of history behind it and all of those musicians whom have had an opportunity to perform there are fortunate. With adjustments made to the building here and there just to keep it intact we can expect that it will be around for many more years to come.
