On this day, August 30th, in 1972, actress Cameron Diaz, known for her roles in “Shrek” and “Charlie’s Angels,” was born in San Diego.
Diaz entered the celebrity spotlight at the age of 16 when she started modeling around the world. She was contracted with top designers and even earned a cover on the magazine “Seventeen.” At the age of 21, she starred in the movie “The Mask,” which she auditioned for with no previous acting experience.
