The Washington Bullets defeat the Seattle Supersonics in Game 7 of the NBA finals

There have not been many Game 7’s in NBA finals history.  But when it happens, it is an exciting event, as everything is on the line in a winner take all game. And in 1978, NBA fans were treated to a terrific game 7.

It was on this day, June 7th, 1978, that the Washington Bullets defeated the Seattle Supersonics in Game 7 of the finals.  Washington would shock Seattle on the road winning the game by a score of 105 – 99.

With under a minute left, the Sonics had came back from an 11 point hole to cut the lead to 2 at 101 – 99.  However, two free throws by the Bullets, and a dunk by Bob Dandridge sealed the 105 – 99 victory.  Seattle would however get its revenge, as the next yea the same two teams met in the NBA finals, this time with the Sonics winning in 5 games.
