Bruce Springsteen, nicknamed “The Boss,” reached stardom in America with his poetic songs and Americana sentiments.  Native to New Jersey, Springsteen incorporated American life and culture into his most successful albums, “Born to Run” and “Born in the U.S.A.”

It was on this day, August 25th, in 1975 that Bruce Springsteen released the album “Born To Run,” which made the singer a worldwide hit.

The album peaked at number three on the Billboard chart, and it sold a total of six million copies in the US by the year 2000.  The album cover, photographed by Eric Meola, has achieved fame along with the album tracks.  The cover pose was later imitated by various entertainment acts from Cheap Trick to Sesame Street.
