“Another Brick In The Wall” is banned in South Africa after its use by a nationwide boycott group that was protesting racial inequalities in schools.

“Another Brick in the Wall” on the album The Wall by Pinky Floyd dealt with the topic of harsh schooling. It takes a stance against boarding types of schools and protests against it. It was such a hit that it was re-released as a single and made it’s way to becoming a number one hit, but the message behind this song did not sit quite well with many.

In May 2nd 1980, “Another Brick In The Wall” was banned in South Africa after its use by a nationwide boycott group that was protesting racial inequalities in schools. During the Apartheid regime there was racial segregation being enforced upon the people by the government. This did not make many of them happy and in their protesting they used this song.

By using “Another Brick In The Wall” in their boycott against the regime the government ended up banning that song and the entire album.
