The name Breyers Ice Cream was registered for a trademark

Breyers is a brand of frozen dessert and ice cream owned by Unilever. For a long while, the company was known for their short, all-natural ingredients list. It was highly emphasized in their advertising campaign, seeing that their ingredients listed at the time were milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla. However, over the years, in order to cut costs, the list of ingredients expanded to include synthetic Tara gum and corn syrup.

On this day, July 19th, in 1921, Breyers Ice Cream was registered for a trademark.

Today, Breyers has a variety of different product lines, including: Standard (which was previously All Natural), Smooth and Dreamy, Double Churn Fat Free, Double Churn No Sugar Added, and Carb Smart.
