Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon.com, announces the launch of the Kindle – a portable e-reader that is extremely thin and easy to use

Amazon.com went online in 1995, and it developed to become the current largest online retailer. Since its founding, the website has expanded to serve other countries: Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, China, Italy, Spain, Japan, and India, in addition to the United States.

On this day, November 19th, in 2007, Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, announced the launch of the Kindle, a portable e-reader that is extremely thin and easy to use.

Starting as an online bookstore, Amazon returned to its roots to create a modern book technology. Through wireless connection, Kindle users can download, browse, and read books, newspapers, magazines, and other digital forms of media. The device uses an E Ink electronic paper display in order to simulate what it is like to read off a book’s page.
