Males and females are separated in the Sporting world.  But when there is a chance for a competition between man and woman – it is often very exciting.

It was on this day, May 13th, 1973, that former tennis star Bobby Riggs competed against women’s tennis star Margaret Court in a tennis match.

Bobby Riggs was 55 years old, but he was looking to make money and help promote the sport of tennis.  Margaret Court, who was 30 years old and the top tennis player in the world, would accept the challenge.  They played in California on Mother’s Day, and many people were surprised with the easy 6-2, 6-1, victory that Bobby Riggs achieved.
