Bambi, now ranked third in animated films by the American Film Institute, is released by Disney

Based on the book Bambi: A Life in the Woods, Walt Disney produced the film Bambi. Differing with the book, Disney changed the type of deer that Bambi was because in the United States roe deer do not exist. The main characters of the film are Bambi, Flower the skunk and Thumper the rabbit. The film was one of Disney’s favorites.

On June 14th 1942, Bambi, now ranked third in animated films by the American Film Institute, was released by Disney. When it was first released it did not do so well in the Box Office, but this was due to WW2, when people did not want to spend money.

Not only is Bambi an animated story about forest animals, but it has a message behind it as well. It sends the audience a message about nature conservation, which during our time is important because being environmentally aware is a big thing.
