Antonio Freeman Catches Brett Favre Pass in Overtime

Although he was only a 3rd round draft pick, wide receiver Antonio Freeman had several great years with the Green Bay Packers.  At the peak of his career, Freeman was one of legendary quarterback Brett Favre’s favorite targets.

On this day, November 6th, in 2000, Antonio Freeman caught a Brett Favre pass in OT to win a memorable game.  The game was played on Monday Night against the Minnesota Vikings with the score tied 20-20.  Favre threw a third down pass that was tipped by a Vikings defender at the 15 yard line, then the ball was bobbled and caught by a falling Freeman.  Since he was not actually down by contact, Freeman was able to get up and run untouched for the game-winning touchdown.

Freeman’s catch is still remembered by Packers faithful and football fans as a whole because it was made in front of a national audience.  Freeman ended his NFL career with 61 receiving touchdowns.
