Aerospatiale-Matra, DASA, and CASA merge to form the world’s second largest aerospace group, EADS

Citizens of all nations have often looked up and wondered what exists outside of the atmosphere of Earth. Aerospace as an industry researches and manufactures vehicles that can explore that space.

On this day, July 10th, in 2000, Aerospatiale-Matra, DASA, and CASA merged to form the world’s second largest aerospace group, EADS.

EADS, or the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company, is a global aerospace corporation. The group includes Airbus—the leading manufacturer of commercial aircrafts; Eurocopter—the world’s leading helicopter supplier; and Astrium—Europe’s leader in space programs. EADS develops both civil and military aircrafts, communication systems, satellites and similar systems.
