The biggest birthday party known to man was broadcasted live in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, London, and New Haven. The MTV Music Awards wanted to do something BIG and by BIG the show had to be ambitious with the world on the guest list.
On this day, September 5th, in 1986, A-ha, the Norwegian pop group took home eight Moonmen and dominated the MTV Music Awards. Their smash hit Take On Me one the Viewer’s Choice Award and A-ha won Best New Artist.
During MTV Awards, A-ha was amongst Tina Turner, Bryan Adams, The Monkees and other famous artists. Over their musical career, A-ha has won 10 Norwegian Grammys and is noted as one of the 45 top grossing bands in the world.
