The final ever game is played at the Boston Garden – the Celtics lose to the Knicks 98 – 92.

Boston Garden was an arena that was home to some of the greatest NBA players of all-time.   In 1957, the arena became the first to host both the Stanley Cup and the NBA finals at the same time.  Amazing games were played in the arena, and it gave Bostonians memories which will last a lifetime.

It was on this day, April 21st, 1995, that the final game was played at Boston Garden.  The Celtics lost the game to the New York Knicks. The following season, the Celtics would play in the Fleet Center which would later be called the TD Garden.

The Boston Garden was host to many historical sporting events.  The first NHL regular season game was at the Garden in 1928.  Several legendary NBA finals games between Magic and Bird were played at The Garden.  Notable music events as well were held at The Garden, including a show by The Beatles during their first ever United States tour in 1964.
